Brazil beef exports keep growing throughout June
Jun, 21, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202224
Exports of fresh beef from Brazil reached an average of 8.16 thousand tonnes per day until the third week of June vis-a-vis 6.68 thousand tonnes in the same month of 2021, showed data from the Department of Foreign Trade (Secex) released on the 20th.
The positive performance occurs despite China temporarily suspending the shipments from a few meatpacking plants since April in a rigorous attempt to bar the entry of the coronavirus into the country.
The Chinese market is the primary importer of Brazilian protein.
In addition, the meat industry has significantly increased exports from Brazil to the United States.

In terms of soybeans, the main product in the Brazilian export basket, the daily average of shipments accumulated in June is 468.42 thousand tonnes so far compared to 526.97 thousand a year earlier, with the highest volumes sent abroad in previous months.
The availability of grains for export is also lower this year after the summer crop failure.
Foreign sales of soybean meal are at a high pace, with the daily average rising from 83,500 tonnes in June last year to 110,100 in the first three weeks of this month.
At the import end, chemical fertilizer purchases remain steady, with a daily average of 190,000 tonnes versus 168,100 in June 2021.
