Brazil’s Federal Policy detained eight foreigners who tried to clandestinely enter a cargo ship in the Port of Paranagua.
According to the authorities, the foreigners entered without authorization on a vessel that was supposed to call at the Port of Abidjã, in Ivory Coast, the African country where the men claimed to be from.
“After the due procedures, the foreigners will remain under the responsibility of the maritime agency representing the ship’s owner, awaiting the formalities of the repatriation process or an asylum request,” the police said in a note.
