Brazil exported 31 thousand tons of biscuits in 1st half of 2024

In the first half of this year, Brazilian biscuit exports reached 31,000 tons, totaling USD 71.2 million and spanning 115 countries. The Brazilian Association of Biscuit, Pasta, and Industrialized Bread & Cake Industries (Abimapi) released this data on Saturday (20), the day on which Brazil observes National Biscuit Day.

According to the association, the United States, Paraguay, and Uruguay are the primary destinations for Brazilian biscuits, accounting for half (51%) of the total exports. In Paraguay, Brazil is the main supplier of biscuits, making up almost 60% of the country’s imports. In Uruguay, Brazil ranks second, with 50%.

Types of Biscuits

Among the various types of biscuits, wafers were the most significant in the foreign market during the first half of this year, with 12,100 tons exported, totaling USD 36.8 million. This represents a 4% increase in value compared to the same period last year.

Traditional biscuit lines, such as water and salt, cream crackers, filled biscuits, donuts and coconut laminates, milk, and cornstarch varieties, totaled USD 31.1 million in the first half of this year, with 17,400 tons exported.
