Peru announced it is opening its market to Brazilian rendering products. According to the industry association ABRA, this is a direct consequence of the strategy employed by the association through the project “Brazilian Renderers,” promoted in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil).
Five companies were qualified to export poultry protein meals to Peru until 2025 after an on-site audit in November 2022. The National Agricultural Health Service of Peru (Senasa Peru) announced the decision in an official letter to the director of Brazil’s Department of Animal Health, Geraldo Marcos de Moraes, on December 28, 2022, who informed the association last week.
Articulated since 2020 and postponed due to the pandemic, the Peruvian Mission in Brazil took place at the end of last year, between November 21 and 26, 2022.
