The Brazilian government gained access to new markets in Cuba and Japan after their governments greenlighted the export of a new set of farming products.
In Cuba, Brazil secured market access to export sheep and goat genetic material (semen and embryos).
Japan announced it has opened its market to the following Brazilian products: cassava meal, hay (Alfalfa Hay and Pellets, Medicago sativa, and Timothy Hay, Phleum pratense), dried citrus pulp (Pulp Citrus Pellets), dried clove flower (Syzygium aromaticum), dried yerba mate leaves (Ilex paraguariensis), and dried macadamia nuts, with or without shells (Macadamia integrifolia).
With these new authorizations, Brazil has achieved its 168th market opening in 2024, totaling 246 new commercial opportunities across 60 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These outcomes are the result of joint efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
