Brazil government commits over BRL 9 billion in port sector contracts

To achieve the new goal of expanding and improving the efficiency of cargo transportation in Brazil set by the Federal Government, Márcio França, the Minister of Ports and Airports, signed nine contracts of adhesion for private port terminals on Tuesday, the 27th pertaining to the first half of 2023.
This initiative ensures an investment of over BRL 9 billion in projects across Brazil’s Southeast, North, Northeast, and Midwest regions.
The contracts primarily involve operating authorization, area expansion permits, and increasing the capacity of the ports. These include eight Private Use Terminals (TUPs) and one Cargo Transshipment Station (ETC).
The volume of investments amounts to over BRL 7.5 billion solely for Santos Terminais Sustentáveis (STS), which will utilize the funds for managing cargo movement such as oil, fertilizers, and grains on the south coast of São Paulo.
The agreements signed in the North region, specifically in the states of Amazonas, Pará, and Rondônia, total over BRL 934 million. Additionally, the investment for operating the TUP in São João da Barra will be nearly BRL 535 million.

- Super Terminais Comércio de Indústria – Manaus – Authorize the expansion of the terminal area and increase its capacity: BRL 292,615,370.91
- ART Logística – Chibatão – Manaus – Authorize the expansion of the terminal area and increase its capacity – BRL 335,871,172.54
- Docas Fluvial Porto Murtinho – Porto Murtinho – Authorize the expansion of the terminal area and increase its capacity – BRL 335,871,172.54
- Açaí Pará – Rurópolis – Authorize the operation of a Cargo Transhipment Station (ETC) – Investment: BRL 5,786,795.51
- Port of Guamaré – Regularization of the terminal
- TUP Vectorial Logistics River Terminal – Corumbá – Regularization of the terminal
