Brazil may start exporting chicken meat to French Polynesia. The statement authorizing sales was sent to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) by the health authorities of French Polynesia.

According to the publication, the meatpackers that today ship to the European Union will be able to export chicken meat to the overseas territory located in the South Pacific Ocean.

Sales should serve the country’s food service market, especially for the hotel chain, which has tourism as its leading economic sector.

With the new open market, Brazil saw nine market openings of agricultural products this year, owing to international players’ recognition of the quality and high sanitary controls established by Brazilian exporters.

In January, Egypt opened the market for cotton and Algeria for live cattle. In February, Chile authorized imports of intestinal mucosa, hatching eggs, and day-old poultry (quail); Panama authorized imports of buffalo semen; Mexico approved pork meat; and Malaysia beef gelatin.

Brazil opened the Mexican market for beef in March. The same goes for Polynesia with chicken protein.
