A collaborative mission involving the Brazilian Federal Police, the Federal Revenue, the Navy’s Diving Unit, and the Port Guard (GPORT) of Santos culminated in the seizure of 247 kg of cocaine on Wednesday morning (23). The narcotics were concealed within the hull of a ship at Santos Port, with its intended destination being Morocco.
According to the authorities, the illicit substance was discovered during an inspection. The ship was selected based on risk assessment criteria related to the vessel and intelligence information. As a result, suspicious packages were located hidden within a submerged compartment of the ship’s hull, referred to as the “Sea Chest.”
A formal investigation has been launched by the Federal Police (PF), and the seized drugs were taken to the PF’s headquarters in Santos. No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
