The important FIL service is now an option for those wishing to use Porto Itapoá as the exit route for products bound for some of the most important ports in Asia.
The first ship to dock at Itapoá will be the MV. Hyundai Shanghai ETA IOA, which is due to arrive on July 8th.
Sergni Pessoa Rosa Jr., the Director of Operations, Technology and the Environment at Porto Itapoá, and Wlademir Cardoso Xavier, a commercial expert, were in Busan, South Korea, for a meeting with the HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine) Group.
At the meeting, the South Korean shipping company’s representatives announced that the FIL (Far East – India – Latin America) service would be making weekly stops at Itapoá.
“This is a relatively new service from HMM that is of great interest to commercial trade with Asia. It is a further option for those of our customers who need to arrange shipments with countries on that continent,” stated Rosa Jr.
This service connects Latin America with some of the most important ports in Asia, such as Busan (South Korea), Shanghai (China), Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia), and Kattupalli (India). The first ship to dock at Itapoá will be the MV. Hyundai Shanghai ETA IOA, which is due to arrive on July 8th.
The FIL service was announced by HMM in October 2021 and began operating in December of that year. It experienced some changes due to the pandemic but is now back to its original configuration.
