Brazil: poultry exports in 1st week of April outpace last year’s perfomance by 60%
Apr, 14, 2023 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202318
The Brazilian poultry sector believes that the performance of Brazilian chicken meat exports in April will repeat the feat of March 2023: broken records in volume and revenue, considering the entire data record of the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), which started in 1997.
This month’s partial data show daily shipments are still intense, registering an average of 32.6 thousand tonnes, 59.8% above the 20.4 thousand tonnes of April last year.
See below a chart with Brazil’s exported volume of poultry meat (hs 0207) from Jan 2019 to Feb 2023. The data is from DataLiner.

According to the Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics (Cepea), large shipments to Japan, China, and Mexico secured the record performance seen in March. From February to March, shipments to these same destinations increased by 78%, 48%, and 50%, respectively.
