The Brazilian government gained access to new markets in Peru and Turkey, a key step toward strengthening trade relations and diversifying export opportunities.

Peruvian health authorities have approved Brazil’s export of hydrolyzed poultry protein, a high-value nutritional ingredient used in animal feed production. In 2024, Brazil accessed ten new agricultural markets in Peru, including yerba mate, cassava meal, hay, coconut fiber, and apples. These developments are expected to bolster trade flows between the two nations. From January to November 2024, Brazil exported $683 million worth of agricultural products to Peru.

In Turkey, local health authorities granted Brazil permission to export mucopolysaccharides, an animal-derived compound widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. In 2023, Brazil exported $2.4 billion in agricultural goods to Turkey, with soy complex products, textiles, and coffee topping the list. By November 2024, Brazilian agricultural exports to Turkey had already exceeded $2.9 billion, signaling robust growth.

With these latest approvals, Brazil has achieved 224 market openings in 2024, bringing the total to 302 new export opportunities since the start of 2023.

These milestones result from joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), reflecting the government’s commitment to expanding Brazil’s global agricultural footprint.
