Brazil sees another increase in its beef exports to China
Mar, 29, 2022 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202213
Brazilian beef sales to China increased by 18.4% in volume and 59.5% in revenue in the first two months of 2022, according to the Brazilian Meatpacking Association (Abrafrigo). The Asian country corresponds to 41% of Brazilian beef exports.
The hike in sales surged a few months after the suspension of beef exports to China that occurred in September last year due to two atypical cases of “mad cow disease.”
The suspension was only lifted in mid-December.
See below the track record of Brazilian beef exports to China recorded in the period between January 2020 and February 2022 measured in TEUs. The data are from DataLiner.
