Paddy rice exports from Brazil have achieved their highest recorded volume thus far in 2023, as reported by Cepea (Center for Advanced Studies in Applied Economics). The total exported in July of this year reached 199.035 thousand tonnes, marking a substantial 59.1% increase compared to the amount seen in June, as indicated by data from Secex (Secretary of Foreign Trade).
Paddy rice shipments from maritime ports in Brazil kept a strong pace. Year-to-date (from January to July), the aggregate volume of shipments of this cereal amounted to 1.06 million tonnes – representing a noteworthy uptick of 13.8% compared to the shipments in 2022.

As the calendar rolled into August, paddy rice prices exhibited modest daily climbs. Experts posit that these increments can be attributed to solid demand and a decreased supply from sellers.
The Cepea/Irga-RS Indicator (Instituto Rio Grandense do Arroz) reported the value of paddy rice to be approximately R$ 89.00 per 50 kg bag.
