Brazil sugar exports surpass last August, reaching 2.11 mt shipped

In the span of 14 working days this August, Brazil exported 2.11 million tonnes of sugar and molasses, generating R$ 1.01 billion in revenue. This data stems from the the Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex). Notably, the past week alone witnessed the shipment of over 465,000 tonnes.
Last month, Brazil’s exports reached a significant 2.975 million tons globally. Comparing this to August 2022, with 23 business days, the product exports totaled 2.957 million tons, generating a total revenue of US$ 1.199 billion.

Combined sugar and molasses exports reached 150,547 thousand tonnes per day within this time frame. This marks a remarkable 17% increase compared to the same period in 2022, which saw exports of 128,581 thousand tons per day. Furthermore, shipment prices have risen by over 18%, with rates now standing at US$ 481.90 per ton.
