The Brazilian government welcomed the recent announcement of export authorizations for new agricultural products to several countries.
Authorities from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) – comprising Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia – have approved the export of bananas and nuts from Brazil to their markets. Brazil exported over USD 1.3 billion of agricultural products to the EAEU this year alone.
Additionally, Brazil’s agribusiness sector has gained new opportunities in Saudi Arabia, confirming the authorization to export yerba mate and macadamia nuts to the country. In 2024, Brazilian agricultural exports to the Saudi market exceeded USD 2.3 billion.
Thailand, in turn, has approved the export of fishmeal and fish oil from Brazil, high-protein, energy-dense products with various industrial applications. Between January and November 2024, Thailand imported more than USD 2.7 billion in agricultural products from Brazil.
These developments reflect the Brazilian government’s efforts to diversify its export portfolio and strengthen trade relations with various partners. The new market openings also highlight the high level of international confidence in Brazil’s sanitary and phytosanitary control systems.
With these announcements, Brazil’s agribusiness sector has reached 221 market openings in 2024, totaling 299 new business opportunities since the beginning of 2023.
