
Brazil Trade Balance Surplus USD 2.403bn by 3rd week of October

Brazil’s trade balance recorded a trade surplus of $2.403 billion in the third week of October 2023. According to data released on Monday, the 23rd, by the Secretariat of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade, and Services (MDIC), this surplus was achieved through exports of $7.598 billion and imports of $5.194 billion.
Up to the third week of the month, the accumulated surplus for October amounts to $6.301 billion. For the year, the balance is positive at $77.555 billion.
The daily average of exports in the third week of October saw an increase of 2.1%, with a rise of 1.12% in agribusiness, a decrease of 7.17% in manufacturing, and a 30.55% increase in extractive industry products.
Meanwhile, imports decreased by 19.7%, with a 26.52% drop in agribusiness, an 11.18% increase in the extractive industry, and a 21.94% decrease in manufactured products, all on a daily average comparison basis.
