Brazil exported 491,800 tonnes of fruits in the first half of 2024, down 7.62% from the same period in 2023. The information comes from the National Supply Company (Conab) in a report released Friday, August 16, in the 8th Bulletin of the Brazilian Program for the Modernization of the Horticulture Market (Prohort).
Despite the lower export volume, revenue from shipments reached $628.89 million (FOB), a 3.73% increase compared to the first six months of 2023.
The chart below used DataLiner-derived data to unveil some of the most exported fruits by Brazil via containers in the first six months of 2024.

While the reduced domestic supply of key export fruits like mango and grapes impacted the volume exported, the higher value-added of these fruits helped offset the revenue.
According to Abrafrutas, several of Brazil’s top exported fruits, such as mango, melon, and watermelon, will peak in shipments during the second half of the year. The outlook is optimistic, with expectations of increasing both revenue and export volume by the end of the year.
