Brazil’s soybean shipments are expected to reach 2.3 million tonnes in January, according to projections released on Wednesday, Jan 24, by the National Association of Cereal Exporters (Anec). This marks an increase of approximately 500,000 tonnes compared to last week’s estimate. The projected figure also indicates growth from the 940,000 tonnes exported by the country in January of the previous year.
Regarding soybean meal exports, the industry lobby slightly reduced its forecast to 2.2 million tonnes for the month, compared to last week’s projection of 2.26 million tonnes. This figure remains higher than the 1.43 million tonnes recorded in the same month of the previous year.
Anec also adjusted its estimate for corn shipments to 3.86 million tonnes in January, down from the 3.94 million tonnes forecasted a week ago and a decline from the 4.86 million tonnes shipped in January 2023.
