Brazil’s agribusiness has gained access to four new markets at the onset of 2024. This week, the Brazilian government received authorization to export live cattle, bovine embryos, and bovine semen to Pakistan, as well as tilapia fingerlings to the Philippines.
In 2023, Pakistan imported $298,097,917 worth of goods from Brazil. Among the main products, fibers and textiles, the soy complex, and forest products stood out, accounting for 83% of Brazilian exports to the Asian country.
The Republic of the Philippines remains an important consumer market of Brazil’s meat, with exports amounting to $918,262,941 last year. Animal proteins represented 76% of what Filipinos imported from Brazil.
The market for live cattle generated an inflow of $488,580,177 for the country in the global market in 2023, reflecting a 154% increase compared to 2022. Brazil gained access to the Pakistani market only this month.
“With enriched diplomatic relations, 2023 was a year characterized by opening markets worldwide. This year, with the support of Minister Carlos Fávaro, we will seek even more new opportunities to export dozens of products and access previously unprecedented destinations, generating income and employment throughout the country,” highlighted Roberto Perosa, Secretary of Trade and International Relations.
