Brazilian beef: July exports grow 21.8% in revenue, 6.2% in volume

Revenue from Brazilian exports of fresh and processed beef increased 21.8% to US$ 1.23 billion in July compared to the same month in 2021.
The volume exported also grew by 6.2% compared to the same month last year, totaling 203,742 tonnes, informed the Brazilian Association of Meatpackers (Abrafrigo), citing recently-released data by the Ministry of Economy and the Secretariat of Foreign Trade.
According to Abrafrigo, 108 countries increased their purchases of Brazilian animal protein, while another 43 decreased their volume.
The association highlights that the sale of beef abroad in the year, from January to July, reached 1,293,071 tonnes, up 20.6% compared to the same period in 2021.
In terms of the revenue of Brazilian beef exports, the amount went from US$ 5.095 billion in 2021 to US$ 7.471 billion in the seven months of this year, an increase of 46.65%, which reflects a good moment for international sales of the product.

Brazil’s main customer, China, purchased 665,014 tonnes in the year (+50.07%) compared to 2021, with 493,686 tonnes.
The United States ranks second, with 115,899 tonnes (+118.9%), compared to 52,935 tonnes in 2021.
The third is Egypt, with 78,583 tonnes (+144%) compared to 32,200 tonnes last year.
Hong Kong is in the fourth position with 59,090 tonnes, up from 136,866 tonnes in 2021 (-56.8%).
