Brazilian boat exports boost SC shipyard sales

The export of Brazilian boats, mainly to the United States, is boosting shipyard sales in Santa Catarina. According to data from MDIC (the ministry of development, industry, and foreign trade), Santa Catarina’s foreign sales of platforms, vessels, and other floating structures increased by 97.2% from January to August 2021, compared to the same period last year, with a turnover of US$ 19.6 million in values (FOB).
Allog’s Project and Special Cargo Manager Carlos Souza believes that the rise in the dollar against the real is one of the main factors in the growth of Brazilian boat exports. “Our shipyards have always been an international reference in the sale of leisure boats, as they combine good quality and an attractive cost in the eyes of the foreign market”, he adds.
The increase in sales in the pandemic made the Brazilian product more popular abroad. “And, probably, movement will continue for this type of cargo in the coming years”, observes the Allog expert.
