Exports by the Brazilian ceramic industry increased 65.7% in the first half over the same period last year, reaching US$ 224.7 million. In volume, the advance was even greater, 69%, to 63.9 million m2, according to data released this Tuesday (24) by ANFACER (the national association of ceramic manufacturers for coatings, sanitary crockery, and the like).
There was also an increase in sales of ceramic products in the Brazilian market, where 449.3 million m2 were sold from January to June, an increase of 22.7% over the same months in 2020. As a result, sales in the sector totaled 513 million m2 between the foreign and domestic markets.

According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of ANFACER, Benjamin Ferreira Neto, the scenario is positive for the Brazilian ceramic tile industry. “When we look at the foreign market, one of the advantages of the Brazilian ceramics industry is its diversity, which allows us to meet the needs of markets with different profiles,” he said.
Brazil is the sixth-largest ceramic exporter in the world, with sales to more than 110 nations. It is also the third-largest producer and second-largest consumer market in the world. For the year 2021, ANFACER projects exports of 124.2 million m2, with a 32% increase over 2020.
