According to information from the Brazilian Federal Government released on Monday, October 3, exports of poultry meat and edible offal, either fresh, refrigerated, or frozen, grew 12.4% in 21 working days in September compared to a year ago.
SAFRAS & Mercado analyst Fernando Henrique Iglesias says that September’s highlight is that chicken meat is effectively on the rise in the international market, and there has been an increase in the consumption of more affordable animal protein.
“Poultry meat ends up working as the basis of food security in several countries. It is a high-quality protein accessible to a large part of the population and is gaining ground in this context of worldwide economic recession,” he said.
The revenue obtained from chicken meat exports until the end of September, US$ 753,978,236, surpassed by 12.4% the amount received in September 2021, which was US$ 670,695,025. In volume shipped, the 364,238,553 tonnes are 93.7% of the total reported in September last year, amounting to 388,534,438 tonnes.
