Representatives from Brazil’s National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ) traveled to London, England, for the 82nd session of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC 82) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
The event, held at the IMO headquarters, focused on environmental issues related to the maritime sector, including proposals to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from ships. The meeting began on Monday (Sept. 30) and runs through Friday (Oct. 4).
ANTAQ’s participation aims to contribute to international discussions on these topics and foster knowledge exchange for implementing projects related to ANTAQ’s environmental agenda—one of the agency’s key issues under discussion.
The delegation included ANTAQ’s Director-General, Eduardo Nery, Director Wilson Lima Filho, Manager of Environment and Sustainability, Uirá Oliveira, Regulatory Specialist from the Development and Studies Management of the Superintendency for Waterway Studies and Projects, Ana Paula Harumi Higa, and International Coordination Coordinator, Cyrce Silva.
