
Brazilian duck meat exports grow 18.9% in 2023

Duck meat exports from Brazil had an upswing of 18.9% in 2023, reaching a total of 3,507 tons and generating revenue of $13.7 million, according to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). The surge was driven by increased demand in the Middle East.
In December alone, 484 tons were shipped, marking a remarkable 171.7% increase compared to the total exported in the same period in 2022, which stood at 178 tons. The revenue for the month reached $1.7 million, a performance 115.6% higher than the balance for December 2022, which was $791,000.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE Take The Lead
Saudi Arabia, the largest importer of Brazilian duck meat, imported 986 tons in 2023, a volume 2% lower than in 2022. On the other hand, the United Arab Emirates imported 916 tons, a 32% increase. Other noteworthy destinations included Qatar, with 422 tons (+38%); Mexico, with 266 tons (+11%); and Japan, with 238 tons (+54%).
