Brazilian egg exports continue to boom

October exports of Brazilian eggs (in natura and processed) totaled 819 tons and generated US$ 1.4 million, according to data from SECEX (the foreign trade secretariat) compiled by ABPA (the Brazilian animal protein association). Compared to October 2020, volume increased by 150%, and revenue increased by 102.3%.
As a result, year-to-date (YTD) exports reached 8,148 tons in October, 138.9% more than in the same period in 2020, and YTD revenue reached US$ 12.9 million, an increase of 110.7%.

Positive Impact
“Pressured by production costs, egg producers are increasingly looking for alternatives in the international market. This has generated positive impacts on the general balance of exports in the sector. At the same time that it increases its international presence, envisioning a long-term strategy, the egg sector has also expanded the availability of products for the Brazilian consumer”, said Ricardo Santin, president of ABPA, in a note.
