Caçados Bibi, a company that owns two manufacturing plants in Parobé, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in Cruz das Almas, Bahia, closed the first half of 2022 with a growth of 42% compared to 2021.
The company, which specializes in manufacturing and selling shoes for children aged 0 to 9 years, allocates 22% of the 2.5 million pairs produced in the year to exports, which go to more than 70 countries.
“In the first half of this year, Bibi experienced interesting upward trends. From January to August, exports of the brand’s pairs of shoes grew 18%, compared to the same period in 2019. In addition, the firm expects to export approximately 28% more pairs than 2019 and 19% more in terms of monetary value,” said the president of Bibi, Andrea Kohraulsch.
According to her, the favorable result exceeded expectations despite the great challenges in the foreign and Brazilian markets.
“With a positive track record in terms of exports, since we managed to take our products to other continents since the 70s with our brand and design, we seek solutions and partnerships with suppliers to negotiate freight rates, shipping deadlines, among other demands to continue supplying markets with shoes that carry Bibi’s DNA, which is to offer shoes and accessories with quality, comfort, and safety to foreign consumers,” she added.
Calçados Bibi also saw increased demand for its products with the return of large-scale face-to-face activities in Brazil. Consequently, there was an increase in sales throughout the children’s footwear chain, which recorded a 56% increase in the group’s revenue, encompassing exports, the 150 franchise operations located in the country and Latin America, and sales to multi-brand businesses.
In addition to shipping products to all continents, the brand sees the proliferation of exclusive stores in other countries as a strategy to bring different collections of shoes and accessories to consumers. Recently, the franchise arrived in Chile with the opening of the first physical operation, totaling 17 foreign units.
