Brazil’s nautical market is currently witnessing a historic moment with remarkable success in domestic sales, surpassing R$2.4 billion in 2022. Notably, speedboats, yachts, and megayachts manufactured in Brazil are garnering the attention of international consumers, particularly from the United States, Europe, and Australia.
One of Brazil’s prominent shipyards, Triton Yachts from Paraná, exemplifies this trend with projected record-breaking export growth of 100% in 2023 compared to the previous year. With a range of boats spanning from 23 to 52 feet, the company, boasting over 30 years of history, initially focused on the Brazilian market but has now piqued the interest of foreign buyers. This year, Triton Yachts anticipates selling and negotiating 16 units for export.
The Brazilian Association of Boat Builders and Implements (Acobar) confirms the maturity of Brazil’s speedboat and yacht manufacturing industry. In 2022, the country achieved a record-breaking export volume of US$30.1 million, nearly four times higher than the import volume of US$7.6 million.
“Allan Cechelero, Triton Yachts’ marketing director, emphasizes, “Demand from the international market continues to expand rapidly. In addition to the quality of our products, the company’s reliability, and tradition, we possess all the necessary safety certifications to meet international standards. To illustrate, even with our high production capacity, there is a waiting list ranging from 4 to 12 months for customers interested in purchasing a Triton Yachts vessel.”
Quality standards
Boats ranging from 30 to 40 feet, especially those with sports features and stylish designs, garner significant appeal among international consumers.
Cechelero adds, “It is important to highlight that Triton Yachts adheres to strict quality standards, and the vessels offered in Brazil are in line with international market models. The brand is experiencing excellent acceptance in the United States. Three additional models, including two 300 SPORTs and a 37 HT, have recently arrived in Miami.”
To date, Triton Yachts has exported over 150 units to countries such as the United States, Turkey, Spain, Norway, the Netherlands, Argentina, and Italy.
