Brazil’s Anec Lowers October Export Projections for Soybean, Meal, and Corn

Brazil’s National Grain Exporters Association (Anec) has revised down its October projections for Brazilian corn and soybean exports. The estimate for corn shipments was adjusted to 5.93 million tonnes, down from 6.24 million tonnes forecasted the previous week. For soybeans, the export expectation decreased slightly to 4.58 million tonnes from last week’s 4.62 million tonnes. Soymeal shipments are now expected to reach 2.51 million tonnes in October, down from the previous estimate of 2.56 million tonnes.
Brazil’s Anec projects 1.523 million tonnes of corn to be shipped from Brazil this week (October 27 to November 2). Soybean shipments are expected to reach 1.018 million tonnes, while soymeal is forecasted at 686.8 thousand tonnes.

Year-to-date, Brazilian soybean exports are expected to total 93.68 million tonnes, lower than the 101.3 million tonnes shipped in 2023. Corn exports are projected at 29.41 million tonnes, also down from last year’s 55.5 million tonnes.
