Brazil’s Anec slashes April soybean export projection to 13.736 mt

Brazil’s National Association of Grain Exporters (Anec) has revised down its projection for soybean shipments in April to 13.736 million tonnes, from 15.152 million tonnes estimated last week. According to the association, the country sent 14.421 million tonnes of soybeans abroad in March.

Anec also cut its export forecasts for soybean meal and wheat and raised it for corn. For soymeal, the new projection is 1.856 million tonnes in April, down from the 2.043 million tonnes projected a week ago. Last month, the volume of the product exported was 1.795 million tonnes.

As for corn, the association again projected shipments of 207.1 thousand tonnes this month, the same volume expected two weeks ago. Last week, the organization had reduced its projection to 186.6 thousand tonnes. In March, Brazil exported 780.9 thousand tonnes of corn.

Regarding wheat, the updated estimate for April is for 207.6 thousand tonnes exported, compared to the 237.6 thousand tonnes projected last week. Last month, the country shipped 603.1 thousand tonnes of wheat abroad.

In the week of April 16-22, Brazil exported 3.251 million tonnes of soybeans, 388.8 thousand tonnes of soybean meal, 46.2 thousand tonnes of corn, and 6.4 thousand tonnes of wheat. For the week of April 23-29, Anec forecasts shipments of 3.911 million tonnes of soybeans and 685.3 thousand tonnes of soybean meal. No corn or wheat shipments are expected.
