Brazil’s august trade surplus soars to US$2.41 billion

The Brazilian trade balance registered a trade surplus of US$ 2.410 billion in the third week of August (14th to 20th). According to data from the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC) released this Monday, the 21st, the value was reached with exports of US$ 7.320 billion and imports of US$ 4.909 billion. In the month, the accumulated surplus is US$ 6.589 billion and in the year, US$ 60.144 billion.
Until the third week of the month, the daily average of exports increased by 5.9% compared to the same period in 2022, with an increase of US$ 43.95 million (15.2%) in Agriculture; growth of US$ 39.93 million (13.1%) in Extractive Industry; and a decrease of US$ 9.73 million (-1.3%) in Manufacturing Industry products.
Imports, on the other hand, had a decrease of 18.4% in the period, also in the comparison by the daily average, with a decrease of US$ 8.17 million (-32.9%) in Agriculture; reduction of US$ 11.44 million (-15.5%) in Mining Industry and decrease of US$ 191.2 million (-18.2%) in products of the Manufacturing Industry.
