Apr, 28, 2025 Posted by Denise VileraWeek 202518
Based on preliminary data through the month’s third week, Brazil’s beef exports are expected to set a new record for April 2025.
It is worth noting that in the early days of April 2025, the average daily shipment of Brazil’s fresh beef showed a slight decline compared to the daily average of April 2024. However, as the month progressed, shipments have recovered and are now signaling that a new record for April could indeed be reached in 2025.
As of the partial results through the second week of April 2025 (9 business days), Brazil’s average daily beef export volume was 10.91 thousand tons, 15.6% higher than the April 2024 daily average (9.44 thousand tons). Through the third week of April (13 business days), the average daily shipment of fresh beef increased to 12.25 thousand tons, 29.8% above the April 2024 average.
The chart below presents a historical overview of Brazilian beef exports. The data is from DataLiner:

The current record for April exports was set in 2024 when Brazil shipped 207.94 thousand metric tons of fresh beef. By the 13th business day of April 2025, shipments had already reached 159.32 thousand tons, representing 76.7% of the total volume exported across all 22 business days in April 2024.
Thus, the data indicate that Brazil’s beef exports will likely reach a new record for April 2025, continuing the trend seen throughout every month this year.
It is also important to highlight that Brazil’s beef exports hit record highs in revenue and shipment volume in March and the first quarter of 2025. In March 2025, Brazil exported 215.43 thousand metric tons of fresh beef, a volume 27.4% higher than the previous record set in 2022 (169.13 thousand tons). Revenue also set a new record, surpassing US$1.0 billion in a single month for the first time in March.
According to the April forecast update, global beef exports will continue rising in 2025, potentially reaching a historic high of over 13.0 million tons in carcass weight equivalent.
Additionally, the average price of Brazilian beef exports has recovered in the partial data for April 2025, reaching almost US$5.00 per kg (US$4.99), 10.2% higher than the average price recorded in April 2024 (US$4.53).
Alongside record-breaking export levels, domestic demand for beef showed signs of improvement in April, driven by a rebound in consumption following the end of Lent.
