Brazil’s export stand at USD 153 billion by second week of June

As of the second week of June, Brazil’s exports have reached $153 billion, with the trade balance showing a positive surplus of $3.3 billion. During this period, exports totaled $14.2 billion, while imports amounted to $10.9 billion, resulting in a total trade flow of $25 billion. This data was released by the Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (MDIC) on Monday, June 17.
In the second week of June alone, exports hit $6.9 billion and imports $4.9 billion, creating a surplus of $1.9 billion. The weekly trade flow stood at $11.8 billion.
Year-to-date, Brazilian exports have accumulated to $153 billion, with imports at $113.8 billion. This has led to a positive trade balance of $39.2 billion and a total trade flow of $266.8 billion.
Comparing monthly figures, exports in the first half of June 2024 grew by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2023, averaging $1.4 billion daily. Imports surged by 16.9%, reaching a daily average of $1.08 billion, up from $929.69 million in June 2023.
Consequently, the average daily trade flow for the first half of June 2024 was $2.5 billion, with an average daily surplus of $332.98 million. This marks a 7.1% increase compared to the average in June 2023.
