Brazil’s meat industry ride wave of increasing exports

According to preliminary data from Brazil’s Ministry of Economy, exports from the South American country totaled 68,876 tonnes of either fresh, refrigerated, or frozen bovine meat in the first eight working days of November, at a daily average of 8,609 tonnes.
This volume is 101.5% higher than the average for the same month last year, which was 4,272 tonnes per day. Revenue for the period was 368.50 million dollars. The average revenue per day was $5.35 million, 8.5% higher than the previous year’s daily average of $4.93 million.

Exports of chicken meat and offal reached 161.73 thousand tonnes in the same period, or 20,216 tonnes per day, on average. In October last year, the country shipped an average of 16,099 tonnes per day, which led to a total of 305,800 tonnes in the month.
Regarding earnings, the daily average for this month’s period, US$ 2,050.50, is 14.6% higher than the US$ 1,788.90 obtained per day in the same month of 2021. The total earned so far is US$ $331.6 million, up from $547.2 million for November last year.

Pork shipments saw an average/day of 5,358 tonnes (+45% compared to November 2021), with revenues of US$ 2,585.00, up 14.5% compared to 2021. In eight working days of November, exports of the product totaled 42,866 tonnes, and revenue was US$ 110.8 million.
