Brazil’s pork exports rise 26.5% in February

According to Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex) data, Brazil’s pork exports (including both fresh and processed meat) reached 54,090 tons last month, an increase of 26.5% year-on-year. Revenue earned from these exports reached US$100.1m, up 13.5% from the same month in 2018.

Pork exports in the first two months of the year totalled 102,600 tons, up 5.65% year-on-year, while shipping revenue fell by 4% to US$191.7m.

According to Animal Protein Association (ABPA), Brazil’s third largest export destination of Pork in February was Russia, importing 11,000 tons, behind China and Hong Kong. Russia withdrew its embargo on imports of Brazilian pork last November.
