Brazil’s sugar exports total 786 thousand tonnes in March

According to data from Brazil’s Foreign Trade Secretariat (Secex), the daily average of the revenue derived from sugar and other molasses exports reached US$ 42.505 million in the first eight working days of March. In the first half of the month, the average daily volume of exports reached 98.270 thousand tonnes.
In March, 786,161 tonnes of sugar were exported, generating US$ 340.039 million in revenue at an average price of US$ 432.50 per ton. The profit obtained each day from sugar shipments in March 2023 is 66.8% higher than the daily average in March 2022 of US$ 25.488 million.

In terms of volume, Secex noticed a 50.1% increase from the 65,474 thousand tonnes shipped in March 2022. Conversely, the average price increased 11.1% from US$ 389.20 per tonne in March 2022.
