Jan, 11, 2024 Posted by Gabriel MalheirosWeek 202402
The vessel MOUNT ITA, a bulk carrier equipped with a dual-fuel engine, was docked at the Port of Itaguaí from January 8 to 9. The iron ore loading operation took place at the Solid Bulk Terminal (TECAR/CSN).
Commissioned in 2023, this ship boasts a remarkable capability to operate on both fuel oil and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). When powered by LNG, the MOUNT ITA significantly contributes to reducing pollutant emissions, standing out in comparison to exclusive fuel oil usage.
