CADE Approves Sale of Wilson Sons to MSC Without Restrictions
Mar, 17, 2025 Posted by Denise VileraWeek 202512
The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) Superintendence has approved the sale of Wilson Sons’ controlling stake to the Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) without restrictions. The decision will become final 15 days after it is published in the Official Gazette, provided there is no third-party appeal or review by CADE’s Administrative Tribunal.
In a statement, the company emphasized that even after CADE’s ruling becomes final, the completion of the sale remains subject to other precedent conditions.
Last year, Ocean Wilsons, the parent company of Wilson Sons, agreed to sell its 56.8% stake in the Brazilian shipping company for R$ 4.35 billion.
