CDRJ breaks port revenue record in August

Billing and cargo handling at Companhia Docas do Rio de Janeiro (CDRJ) for the month of August registered the highest monthly billing in the year, in nominal terms. The level reached of R$ 116.1 million for the four ports managed by the port authority – Rio de Janeiro, Itaguaí, Niterói, and Angra dos Reis – was 185.7% higher than the turnover of August 2020. The total consolidated movement of the month reached 5.7 million tons, an increase of 9.6% in the annual average until July and 11.3% compared to August last year.
In August, the Port of Rio de Janeiro registered a record cargo handling for the month of 885,000 tons. This was a new record since the beginning of the historical series in January 2015. This volume increased 21.3% over July 2021 and 24.5% over the August movement in 2020. The port’s turnover was R$ 16.2 million in August, maintaining the average observed in the first half of this year and surpassing, by 28.1%, the result obtained in August 2020.
At the Port of Itaguaí, cargo handling increased by 9.1% compared to August 2020. Statistical data also show that in August, the Port of Itaguaí reached the highest monthly turnover of 2021, in nominal terms, with R$98.7 million.
