Companhia Docas do Ceará (CDC) has taken a significant stride towards sustainability with the establishment of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) policy committee, an initiative aimed at aligning operations with international standards for environmental responsibility, social engagement, and robust governance.
“This move underscores our commitment to adopting a management model akin to leading multinational corporations, characterized by regular performance reporting to all stakeholders,” remarked Paulo Pinho, President of the ESG Practices Committee and CDC’s Planning Coordinator.
Pinho highlighted CDC’s focus on delivering tangible results, a cornerstone of ESG practices aligned with governance principles. He also emphasized the company’s proactive engagement with neighboring communities, citing innovations such as an enhanced website facilitating organized and secure visits to vessels—a testament to CDC’s commitment to social responsibility.
“As an institution dedicated to environmental preservation and sustainability, our policies resonate with the ‘E’ in ESG, while our community engagement efforts reflect the ‘S’ in sociability. By prioritizing these pillars, we aim to further elevate our reputation as a forward-thinking organization,” Pinho affirmed.
The committee will convene in periodic meetings to unveil strategic initiatives corresponding to each facet of ESG practices, charting a course toward sustainable growth and corporate excellence.
