Another significant step towards developing renewable energy policies in Ceará was taken. The State Government signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Hitachi Energy LTDA on Thursday (26) to supply equipment aimed at industries and companies producing renewable energy, primarily green hydrogen. This marks the 34th MoU signed by the State for the H2V chain.
The MoU is intended to regulate the manner and conditions under which the parties propose to direct their potential, cooperating mutually to develop solar/wind energy projects and/or the green hydrogen production chain in Ceará.
“Ceará has been following our challenge in the field of renewable energies, especially green hydrogen. Hitachi, here in Brazil, is responsible for supplying most of the hydrogen equipment, especially in electrical energy, for our hydroelectric plants, wind energy, and solar. This company has a significant presence in the Brazilian and global markets,” emphasized Ceará Governor Elmano de Freitas.
Through this document, the company commits to support the realization of its potential. Among these commitments are studying and identifying viable opportunities for the development and implementation of projects and, whenever possible, the supply of solar/wind energy and/or inputs for the green hydrogen production chain within the territory of Ceará. The company will also make its best efforts to collaborate with local universities and technology centers to develop research and innovation programs promoting technologies related to renewable energy and green hydrogen and its derivatives.
“It is a great pleasure for us to sign this agreement and collaborate with the Pecém Port Industrial Complex, which is the main hub for green hydrogen in Brazil. Hitachi Energy, to promote a future of sustainable energy for all, is ready to support the country in this energy transition. Ceará is in a prominent position in this transformation, with prospects for significant growth in the coming years, which will require a robust infrastructure to ensure the quality and availability of energy for producers,” stated Glauco Freitas, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Hitachi Energy in Brazil.
