Chicken meat exports remain high, at 9.08% in 2021

ABPA (the Brazilian association of animal protein) has announced that Brazilian exports of chicken meat (considering all products, both in natura and processed) totaled 4.198 million tons between January and November this year, an increase of 9.08% over sales recorded in the same period last year (3.849 million tons.
In terms of revenue, exports of chicken meat increased even more significantly in the same period, reaching 25.3%. Altogether, revenues of US$ 6.944 billion were registered in the first eleven months of 2021, against US$ 5.543 billion in the previous year.
Considering only the month of November, 334,700 tons of chicken meat were exported, 4.5% less than the 350,700 tons exported in the same period in 2020.
But revenue from November exports grew 26.9%, to US$ 605.3 million this year, against US$ 476.8 million in the eleventh month of 2020.
The main export destinations for the year are Japan, with 403,500 tons exported, 8.8% more than shipped in the same period in 2020; the United Arab Emirates, with 344,000 tons (+26.4%); South Africa, with 268,800 tons (+13.3%); the European Union, with 178,700 tons (+14%); and the Philippines, with 154,800 tons (+158.7%).
“Sales of higher value-added products were more representative in Brazil’s chicken meat exports, leading to a direct influence on export revenue in November and in the other months of the year”, assesses the director of markets at ABPA, Luís Rua.
