In a ceremony attended by Chilean Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren and China’s Minister of the General Administration of Customs, Yu Jianhua, the two countries signed protocols aimed at expanding the access of Chilean products to the Chinese market.
One protocol focuses on shipments of fresh fruit through third-party countries, optimizing transit times and enhancing fruit quality for consumers. The other expands exports to include chilled meats and select frozen by-products, broadening the protein offerings available to Chinese consumers.
The agreements were signed by Chile’s Undersecretary of Agriculture, Ignacia Fernández, and China’s Vice Minister of Customs, Wang Lingjun.
Foreign Minister van Klaveren is currently on a working visit to China, where he will hold several meetings with Chinese officials, including one with Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
