
China imports 643,000 t of meat in July, says Customs

China, the world’s biggest animal protein buyer, imported 643,000 tonnes of meat in July, showed data from the General Administration of Customs released on August 7.
July meat purchases were down 24.7% from the same month a year ago but up 6.6% from June 2022.
In turn, from January to July year-to-date, imports of meat cuts reached 4.10 million tonnes, down 30.9% compared to the previous year, according to China’s customs.
