China’s customs require staging soybean at warehouse before passing quarantine

The world’s top soybean buyer has issued a regulation requiring imported soybeans warehoused before entering the market, its customs agency said on Monday, July 10.
The regulation requires the importer to stage the soybean at specific warehouses before it gets quarantine permission to enter the domestic market.
In May, three soybean traders told Reuters that China is increasing the rate of inspections on imported soybean cargoes, and it further delayed the clearing times.
China is now seeking to diversify its soybean import origins to secure the oilseed’s supply.
