China’s July soybean imports down by 14.1%

China imported 8.67 million tons of soybeans in July, 14.1% less than in July last year, according to Reuters. Imports of edible oils totaled 826,000 tons, down 18.7%.
In the same comparison, Chinese pork imports fell 14.43% to 854,000 tons.
After the African swine fever decimated its swineherd, China has been able to gradually rebuild its herd. Some analysts are betting that the country will reduce the purchase of grains and meats in the coming months.
