CMA CGM Expands Sustainable Intermodal Rail Solutions in Brazil

Global shipping giant CMA CGM has announced the expansion of its intermodal solutions in Brazil, aiming to provide more sustainable and cost-effective transport options for businesses operating along key global trade routes.
The company’s services center around the Port of Santos, Brazil’s largest and most strategic hub for intermodal logistics. Santos offers seamless rail connectivity to four major regions—São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás, and Mato Grosso—enabling efficient inland transport for international cargo.
CMA CGM’s intermodal network now connects the Port of Santos to six key rail terminals across the country, including Jundiaí, Rondonópolis, Contagem, Itutinga, Juiz de Fora, and Anápolis. The service includes weekly rail departures with transit times of two days to Jundiaí and up to seven days to other destinations.
For international shipments, Santos serves as a vital gateway, with transit times of 33 days from Shanghai, 27 days from Pusan, 16 days from Antwerp, 21 days from Aliaga, and 26 days from Norfolk.
This move aligns with the growing demand for sustainable logistics solutions in Brazil, as companies increasingly seek alternatives to road transport that reduce environmental impact and optimize costs.
