
CMA CGM launches new ecological intermodal connections between Southeast Brazil and China

CMA CGM announced two new dedicated services with green intermodal solutions to serve dynamic Southeast Brazil, specifically Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, and connect the region to China.
As of April 2022, Rail Rio de Janeiro Ramp and Mina Gerais Ramp products allow customers to benefit from daily departures and short and reliable transit times through the port of Santos, Brazil.
“To meet the needs of our customers, CMA CGM will offer three weekly services: Seas, Seas2 and Safran services to connect Asia and Europe to/from Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais with rail ramp delivery in 4 days and seven days, respectively. Furthermore, in case of last-mile service requests, the intermodal transit time drops to one day”, indicated the shipping company.
According to the shipping company, the transit time to Rio de Janeiro is 37 days from Shanghai, 40 from Qingdao, 19 from Antwerp, and 21 from Hamburg. On the other hand, from Mina Gerais, the connection takes 38 days to Shanghai, 41 to Qingdao, 30 to Antwerp, and 28 to Hamburg.
