CMA CGM Transfers Another Service from DPW to Santos Brasil

CMA CGM has announced migrating the ‘SEAS 1’ service from DP World’s terminal to Santos Brasil’s terminal at the Port of Santos (SP). The change will take effect in April and is part of the shipping company’s strategy to enhance operational efficiency and security. The first vessels scheduled to operate at the new terminal are the WB Kota Ébano, expected to dock on April 5, and the Sempre Ligação, estimated to arrive on April 16.
This marks the second recent shift made by the company between the two terminals.
In February, CMA CGM had already announced the transfer of the ‘Brazex’ service to Tecon Santos, with operations set to begin on April 17. At that time, the vessels CC Maupassant and CC Berlioz were designated as the first to operate after the transition, with export stacking planned four days before their estimated arrival.
CMA CGM has highlighted Santos Brasil’s terminal as a more suitable solution to ensure faster operations and improved customer service. On March 14, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade) approved, without restrictions, the sale of Santos Brasil’s controlling stake to CMA CGM. In December of last year, the transaction had already received approval from the National Waterway Transport Agency (Antaq). The deal is valued at approximately R$ 6.3 billion.
