
CODEBA inks contract to ship 650K tonnes of manganese to China and India

The CEO of state-owned port authority CODEBA, Carlos Autran Amaral, along with other members of the Board of Directors, welcomed, on the morning of Oct 6, at the Port of Ilhéus, representatives of mining company Davos Comercial e Exportação Mineral Ltda., Fujax UK Limited and Ashley Global Shipping LTD. The companies gathered for an institutional visit to officialize the contract to export 650 thousand tonnes of manganese ore.
Representatives of the free-trade zone of Ilhéus, the City Hall, and the Port Operator Multilog were also present.
The shipments destined for China and India will be completed in two years by the Port Operator Multilog. Such operation demonstrates CODEBA’s alignment with the global market and articulation of efforts with Ilhéus city administration for regional economic development and job creation.
